Karl Theodor Wilhelm Weierstrass (Weierstraß) Pronunciation

Karl Theodor Wilhelm Weierstrass (German: Weierstraß) (1815 - 1897) was a German mathematician who was a central figure in the development of mathematical analysis. The Weierstrass M-test,  Weiestrass approximation theorem, and Weierstrass function are named after him.
